The 2008 Triad Commute Challenge – A Great Success! We are excited to report that 1,571 people pledged to get out of their single occupancy vehicles and try an alternative form of transportation between March 1st and May 31st, 2008. If each participant tried their chosen alternative commute option just once, the reduction in vehicle miles traveled (VMT) is 103,686 miles. Those 103,686 miles people didn’t drive alone in their car, add up to:
