PART Express Service Enhancements – Fall 2018

PART has secured  funding to enhance bus service into Winston-Salem to reduce congestion during the Business 40 Closure. PART will increase service on Route 6 Surry County Express, Route 17 Kernersville/WS Express,  adjust Route 18, and create a new Route 28 West Forsyth Express. Final schedules are being developed and will be posted in the coming weeks.

Route 6 Surry County Express

Thanks to Business 40 Mitigation funding, PART is proposing to add more service into the US 52 corridor with service from Pilot Mountain and King into Winston-Salem. The proposed schedule would add to the already established Route 6 service and provide many more mid-day runs and more service during peak hours.

Route 17 Kernersville/Winston-Salem Express

Thanks to Business 40 Mitigation funding, PART is proposing to add more service from Kernersville into Winston-Salem and move the Park & Ride Lot for Kernersville to Town Hall. The proposed schedule would add to the Route 17 service and provide many more mid-day runs and more service during peak hours.

Route 18 Kernersville/Greensboro Express

PART is proposing to move the Park & Ride Lot for Kernersville to Town Hall. The proposed schedule would adjust Route 18 to serve the Town Hall Park & Ride Lot instead of Harris Teeter.

Route 28 West Forsyth Connector

Thanks to Business 40 Mitigation funding, PART is proposing to add a route from Bermuda Run and Clemmons into Winston-Salem. The proposed schedule provides peak hours and mid-day service to provide a connection from Western Forsyth County.

These enhanced services will be funded by Business 40 Mitigation funding during the closure. At the end of the project service may be reduced if additional funding is not available.
