North Carolina is growing at a rapid pace. Congestion in the three major metropolitan areas of the state (Triad, Triangle and Metrolina Regions) are all examples of the rate population of residents and business that have surpassed the road network available to support travel needs.

Since 1995 North Carolina has shown to be the sixth fastest growing state in the country. With growth comes prosperity and the associated pains of increased congestion, bad air, and a need to make hard decisions to build a network of transportation systems now and into the future.

Many areas across the country have taken a reactive approach to building their way out of transportation infrastructure disaster. PART is positioned to take a proactive approach to building the future of the Piedmont Triad's transportation infrastructure. By working together as a region to make improvements to roadways, facilities, services, and enhancing the betterment of our air and services to the public we can accomplish our goals of establishing the most valuable investments for the future.
