The Triad Commute Challenge Commuter Dash was a success!  A special thank you to all of the Participants, Sponsors and Volunteers!
Organized by the Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation (PART) and Triad Air Awareness, the Commuter Dash was held in Triad Park, Kernersville, NC, on Saturday, April 10th, 2010.

Special invited guests, Congressman Howard Coble and Greensboro City Councilmember T. Dianne Bellamy-Small, helped to kick-off the event!

The course was a 3 mile loop on roads and paved trails. Registration was FREE and open to all runners and walkers who are 16 years of age or older! Registrants were welcomed to bring children and pets. Kids age 5-12 participated in the Bike Rodeo, a bicycle safety education program designed  to teach safety while having fun.

The Triad Commute Challenge Commuter Dash was the kick-off event for the Triad Commute Challenge which takes place April 10th – July 10, 2010. The Triad Commute Challenge encourages participants to try an alternate commute option (bike, walk, bus, vanpool, carpool, telecommute) at least one time over the three month period instead of driving alone. By registering for the Dash, participants pledged to try an alternate commute option by July 10, 2010.

All registered runners and walkers were eligible for prizes given out during the event as well as throughout the duration of the Triad Commute Challenge!  CLICK HERE, to view the results and pictures from the event.
